Tara literary translated to “star” in Sanskrit. She is that light which shows the path of enlightenment and higher knowledge. Tara has 21 forms in Tibetan Buddhism and is considered the mother of Buddhas, and in Indian tantric traditions she shows her self in her blue form of Nila Sarasvati, as the mother of the final destination.

Each of her forms has a special meaning, and she is both benevolent and wrathful at times, depending on what is needed.
